NIH Kolkata announces Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery Entrance Test 2017.

National Institute of Homeopathy (NIH) Kolkata, affiliated to ‘The West Bengal University of Health Science’ invites application for the program Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) from eligible candidates for the academic year 2017-18.The admissions will be made on the basis of NIH Kolkata BHMS Entrance Test 2017

Duration of the course is five and a half years including one-year compulsory Rotatory Internship

NIH BHMS Eligibility Criteria

As prescribed for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) session 2017-18 conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education on 7th May 2017 (Sunday) for UG. The candidate must have qualified National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG) session 2017-18 conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education on 7th May 2017 (Sunday)

Age: As prescribed for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG) session 2017-18 conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education on 7th May 2017 (Sunday)

Selection Process

The candidate must have qualified National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG) session 2017-18 conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education on 07th May 2017 (Sunday)

In this academic year, 93 seats shall be available for admission to the BHMS Degree Course, out of this following seats are earmarked for different categories of candidates

(i) Fourteen (14) seats are earmarked for the candidates nominated from the following States/Union Territories: Jammu & Kashmir (1), Manipur (1), Meghalaya (2), Mizoram (2), Nagaland (2), Sikkim (1), Tripura (2), Andaman and Nicobar Island (1), Dadra and Nagar Haveli (1) and Daman & Diu (1). No. of Seats earmarked for States/Union Territories may vary as per the Govt. of India orders prevalent at the time of admission

(ii) Six (06) seats are earmarked for Foreign Nationals out of which 05 seats are earmarked for candidates from Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical & Economic Co-operation (BIMSTEC) countries to be nominated by ICCR, Ministry of External Affairs, Azad Bhavan, Indraprastha Estate, New Delhi and One (01) seat is reserved for Foreign National candidates under self-financing scheme nominated by the Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India

(iii) Ten (10) seats are earmarked for candidates sponsored by Govt. of Sri Lanka through the Ministry of AYUSH, Govt.of India. If the requisite number of candidates are not sponsored by Govt. of Sri Lanka, those seats shall remain vacant; no other candidate will be admitted to these seats

(iv) The remaining 63 seats will be filled up through National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG) session 2017-18 conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education on 07th May 2017 (Sunday)

(v) Distribution of seats to various categories may be modified by competent authority

(vi) Reservation as per the Govt. of India norms shall be applicable

Physical Fitness

He/she is not blind (including colour blind), deaf and/or dumb (as per the syllabus and curriculum to the course prescribed by Central Council of Homoeopathy and the West Bengal University of Health Sciences)

Orthopedically challenged persons with 50 to 70% locomotor disability involving the lower limbs only, can apply for the course

Application Fees

Filled in the application form (in candidate’s own handwriting) is to be sent along with Demand draft of Rs.1000/- (Rupees One Thousand only) in favour of “Director, National Institute of Homoeopathy”, payable at Kolkata (IPO/Cheque/Cash/Money order will not be accepted). Demand Draft drew on any Nationalised Bank. Application Fees once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances

Candidates belonging to SC/ST categories, Demand Draft is not required but a photocopy of self-attested caste certificate in prescribed proforma must accompany the application form

Candidates claiming reservation under OBC category and Orthopedically Challenged Category are required to enclose self-attested photocopy of OBC certificate and Orthopedically challenged certificate issued by competent authority in prescribed proforma as that of NEET 2017-18

Submission of Form

The duly filled in application form should reach the office of the Director, National Institute of Homoeopathy, Block-GE, Sector-III, Salt Lake, Kolkata-700106 on or before the last date of submission of application form i.e. 12th July 2017 (Wednesday) upto 05.00 PM. Any application form receipt after this date and time will be summarily rejected

Application Form should be submitted in an sealed envelope super scribing “Application Form for Admission to BHMS Degree Course, Session 2017-18 – Last date of submission 12th July 2017 (Wednesday) upto 05.00 PM”

Date of Counselling (and of Admission) – Date of counselling & subsequent admission will be notified in the Institute website www.nih.nic.in after getting necessary permission from Ministry of Ayush, Govt. of India
